Funding

The Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach is a member of the Leibniz-Gemeinschaft. Long-term decisions and financing of all programs are shared by the German federal government and the governments of all the local states of Germany, with emphasis on the German local state of Baden-Württemberg.

The buildings financed by the VolkswagenStiftung not only offer accommodation facilities for visitors but also form an excellent and stimulating frame for the research activities at the Institute. The library extension was financed jointly by VolkswagenStiftung and Klaus Tschira Stiftung in 2007.

Also the Förderverein (Friends of Oberwolfach, Verein zur Förderung des Mathematischen Forschungsinstituts Oberwolfach e.V.) and the Oberwolfach Stiftung (Oberwolfach Foundation, a foundation of public utility within the Förderverein) support the Institute in a substantial way. Funding of the MFO is possible either directly, or via the Förderverein or the Oberwolfach Foundation, and is tax deductible. We are very grateful to all who have supported or will support the MFO in this way.
