Grants
Depending on the scientific program you are participating in, we are able to offer several grants covering travel expenses. Your eligibility for one of these grants is decided by the MFO, subject to a prior application. Details on each grant and information how you can apply can be found under the corresponding link.
Oberwolfach Leibniz Graduate Students (OWLG)
The OWLG program addresses to graduate students and recent post docs (the Ph.D./Dr. degree must be received not more than 2 years ago, counted from the date of the workshop). The travel costs for participation in Oberwolfach Workshops and Mini-Workshops can be reimbursed up to an amount of 200 Euros in average. Read more...
US Junior Oberwolfach Fellows (NSF Grant)
This grant enables the MFO to support the participation of outstanding early career scientists from US universities/institutes in all weekly activities at Oberwolfach. This concerns applications of postdocs, tenure track holders or graduate students to Oberwolfach Workshops, half-size Workshops, Mini-Workshops, Arbeitsgemeinschaften and Seminars. Read more...
Oberwolfach Foundation Fellows (OWFF)
This grant of the Oberwolfach Foundation aims to support invited excellent early career researchers, coming from places with insufficient support for early career researchers and with Dr./Ph.D. not longer than 10 years ago, with regard to their travel to the MFO. It allows the MFO to reimburse travel expenses up to an amount of 1000 Euros for one early career researcher on average in every week. Read more...
Siemens Grant for Oberwolfach Seminars
By the support of the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Foundation, travel expenses for participants of Oberwolfach Seminars can be reimbursed up to 150 Euro in average per person. Read more...
Oberwolfach Leibniz Fellows (OWLF)
The focus of this program "Oberwolfach Leibniz Fellows" (OWLF) for postdoctoral researchers is to support outstanding mathematical early career researchers, having received their doctoral degree not more than 5 years ago, in the realization of own research projects during an important period of their scientific career. This program annually supports up to 40 Simons Visiting Professors, distinguished junior or senior scientists from outside Europe, who wish to combine an invitation to an Oberwolfach Workshop with a research visit to a European university of up to two weeks. Read more...

A special grant addresses to the annual winners of the Student Prize of the DMV. Student Prize winners are offered a one-week participation in an Oberwolfach Workshop of their own choice. Of course, this has to be coordinated with the MFO and the organizers of the workshop according to the capacity available.
